About the expert

Andrei Viktorovich — expert assistance with markings on products made of metals, polymers and other materials.

Professional approach

The work centres on the object and the questions posed: what exactly needs to be established, the product's material, where the marking is located, how it was applied and whether there are signs of damage or alteration.

Training and experience

Professional retraining in the examination of identification markings.

Expert practice since 2020.

Membership and insurance

Andrei Viktorovich is a member of SUDEX.

His professional liability as a forensic expert is insured with Absolut Strakhovanie LLC for RUB 5,000,000.

What you should

  • record the overall appearance of the product and the location of the marking;
  • take sharp close-up photographs from different angles;
  • preserve the surface without cleaning or further intervention;
  • distinguish technical features of the marking from the legal assessment of the product's authenticity.

Combined examination

If the dispute concerns material, coating, chemical exposure, product authenticity, product quality or a manufacturing defect, combined work with a materials scientist, commodity expert, chemist or specialist laboratory may be needed.

Consultation

Send photographs of the marking and a description of the product

Describe the object, material, marking location and task, and attach photographs, documents, questions from the court, the previous expert's report or information about the product's origin.

  • markings on metals;
  • markings on polymers;
  • serial numbers, stamped marks and plates;
  • signs of alteration, removal or damage to a marking.

For an assessment, please attach close-up photographs of the marking, an overall view of the product, documents, questions from the court or an expert report for review.
